  7. Submission Format: 

    [Written Works]
    Applies to Novel, Prose, and Calligraphy categories. The theme is unrestricted, please refer to the word count limit in the table above.Form:

    *Please submit your work in Microsoft Office Word format, using the standard A4 portrait layout, and save the file with the following filename format: 【Competition Category】-Work Title (e.g. 【Prose】-Spring). PDF files will not be accepted.

    *The title should be in bold with 16pt font size using SimSun, and the content should be typed in SimSun with 14pt font size, with a fixed line height of 25pt. Works that do not comply with the formatting requirements will not be considered for evaluation. Please send the Word electronic file to the designated submission email address: ygjiang@cycu.edu.tw, with the email subject formatted as: 【Competition Category】-Work Title-Student ID-Name (e.g. 【Prose】-Spring-10900000-John Smith) within the submission deadline.

    【Non-Text Categories】
    *Calligraphy Category:
    Format: Vertical writing on a pair of Xuan paper (approximately 140cm x 35cm), font and content are free, must be signed and can be stamped, no need for mounting.

    *Photography Category:
    (1) Theme: Participants can choose their own theme and capture the campus life, people, and objects of “Chung Yuan” from the perspective of “Chung Yuan people”.
    (2) Equipment: Any equipment capable of taking photos, including smartphones, mirrorless cameras, or DSLR cameras, is allowed.
    (3) Specifications of the works:      
    ① Submitted photos can be in color or black and white.  ② Post-processing, including brightness and contrast adjustment, is allowed.      
    ③ The effective pixels of the works must be higher than 8 million pixels, and no file manipulation to increase the size of the works is allowed.      
    ④ Works should be submitted in digital .JPG or .TIFF format.
    (4) Please send the files to the designated submission email address: ygjiang@cycu.edu.tw, with the email subject formatted as:
    Competition Category】-Work Title-Student ID-Name (e.g. 【Photography】-As Real As Illusion-10900001-John Smith), and attach a brief creative concept explanation of approximately 50-100 words (Attachment 1).

    Submission Guidelines
    Participants are required to submit the following three items concurrently for submission:
    (1)For submissions in the “Written” and “Photography” categories, electronic files of the works must be sent to the designated submission email: ygjiang@cycu.edu.tw. For submissions in the “Calligraphy” category, works should be submitted directly to the assigned team.
    (2)The registration form for participation (Attachment 1) must be submitted with a handwritten signature.
    (3)The declaration form for participation (Attachment 2) must be submitted with a handwritten signature.

    The same author can participate in multiple categories of submissions, but each category is limited to one entry. For participants submitting works to multiple categories, a registration form and declaration form should be submitted separately for each work.

    For the submitted works (except for the “Calligraphy” category), the author’s name, pen name, or any identifiable signs, symbols, images, or text must not be marked. If such markings are identified, the participation qualification for that entry will be disqualified.

    Chung Yuan Christian University has the right to publish and exhibit the winning works of the Pu Ren Gang Literary and Artistic Award.

    Participants are advised to retain their original copies of the submitted works, as no submissions will be returned, whether they win an award or not.

  8. Evaluation Method:
    The organizing committee will invite scholars and experts to serve as judges.
    If the quality of the works does not meet the standard, the judges may decide to omit a certain award or modify the award name and prize money.
    There will be no additional remuneration for inclusion of the selected works in the collection of works.
    If plagiarism, ghostwriting, or violation of application conditions is found after verification, the participation qualification will be revoked, and the prize money and certificate must be returned, with legal responsibility borne by the contestant.
    Works that have been previously published in other publications are not eligible for participation. If such a situation is identified, the participation qualification will be cancelled. For those who have already won an award, the prize money, vouchers, and certificates received will be recovered.
    Event information and the list of winners will be announced on the website of Chung Yuan Christian University.

  9. The award ceremony and exhibition of works will be held after the evaluation, and the detailed time and venue will be announced separately.
